I saw that When You Reach Me in the IR Award ...YES! I saw that When You Reach Me in the IR Award section at Borders and I was so excited. And I did read Tales of Outer Suburbia. In fact, if you are the person I'm thinking you are, I read your copy. And I absolutely fell in love with Hugo Cabret. So beautiful.
The Order of Odd-Fish was a bit of a mess, I think I have to agree. It was one of those rare moments where I actually enjoyed the mess, which doesn't usual happen. Ever.
I haven't read more by Diana Wynne-Jones. I'll have to look her up at my library. Yay for books! :DAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09222233412304660376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2437645392949660696.post-16632140456981933642011-03-16T22:11:29.256-04:002011-03-16T22:11:29.256-04:00First of all, I LOVE When You Reach Me. Another book that does a good job of blending words and pictures to tell a story is The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick.
I have to admit, I didn't finish the Order of Odd-fish. Not because it was too strange (I love Whales on Stilts) but because I didn't think it was well-written enough for me to spend the time reading it. I thought it was kind of a mess, actually.
But I also enjoyed Sorcery and Cecilia or The Magic Chocolate Pot. Have you read anything else by Diana Wynne-Jones? I love her books.Desiraehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15231299522261567764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2437645392949660696.post-57129431884166705892011-02-02T19:22:44.838-05:002011-02-02T19:22:44.838-05:00@Hannah: I will have to look him up... Like, 40 of them were picture and middle grade books.

@aspiring_x: Oh yes! I remember you mentioning that one. I meant to get it from the library. It will have to go on my list. I lurve the Hunger Games! Totally made me cry.

@Lydia K: I enjoyed these books so much. Hopefully one or two of them can be enjoyed by you as well. I love learning about books through blogger people. It's so much fun. I believe it was through you that I learned about a book I'm reading now. The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat. SO good so far.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09222233412304660376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2437645392949660696.post-56879184262775986092011-01-11T12:22:32.533-05:002011-01-11T12:22:32.533-05:00I wish I couldn't have read that many. I don't even know what else to say about that...

I read some of my mentors books, Christopher Pike and Jonathan Carroll. I love CP because he's the one who made me want to write and become a fan of blending genres. JC because he inspires me to just write better and delve deeper into interpersonal relationships and just observate(is that a word? blogger says yes.) more.

My most recent addition being HATER by David Moody, that book seriously blew my mind away as violently as possible. I haven't read anything that raw since Chuck Palahniuk, who I also read his most recent book last year, twas brilliant as ever.

I think that's it.Hannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16915603693944523761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2437645392949660696.post-90108850247488298622011-01-10T16:28:21.031-05:002011-01-10T16:28:21.031-05:00@Falan: I had a few months where I was out of a jo...@Falan: I had a few months where I was out of a job so I read books like a crazy person.

I started Hooked! :) I'm hoping to finish it this year.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09222233412304660376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2437645392949660696.post-67402957550098224262011-01-10T16:07:50.782-05:002011-01-10T16:07:50.782-05:00149 books is Cray-Cray!
