Loads of Excitement

1) I know I already said this, but it's still exciting: I figured out (for now) what I want to do with my life, and I'm actually excited, and I actually have a plan on how to achieve it. Yay!

2) I JUST GOT ACCEPTED TO COLLEGE! Yay! It's at the same place the Sis is going to and even though my dad and mum said, "Pshhht, with your grades you'll be fine," I was still worried about getting in. And I did!! Tomorrow I get everything set up. Hopefully. The internet isn't working at home (I'm at work right now, shh) and someone forgot to do her FAFSA. AH!

3) Guess what I wrote? *nods emphatically* Yes. I wrote the Difficult Scene. You see, first I called my friend (some of you know her as ElvishVampireHobbit) and talked with her, and then I went to work. Afterwards I was walking to my car and there was the moon streaming down ethereal light, and a scrub-of-a-brillo-bush, and large reed like grass nodding and hiccuping in the wind, and...

Suddenly I was talking like this:

Obadiah: "You have to trust me." (Obadiah wasn't really there, but I was talking in his voice)
Micaiah: "Trust you? What do you mean?"
Obadiah: "I mean there are some things I have to do that you can't know about, and you have to trust that I will keep the good of the Spakes in mind."
Scotch: "Cause that's not vague."

And then a car door slammed behind me and I jerked around, now fully aware that some woman had been standing behind me, and was probably jumping into her car as fast as possible since there was some kind of freak (namely me) staring into the bushes talking to herself.

BUT it was Worth it. Not only did I write that scene, I wrote Another one. And I bumped up my word count from 43,000 to 46,000. Well, almost 46,000, but it's close enough.

So thank you my Lame Namers (my LamNams?) for threatening me.

Can I have some cookies now?
And could someone unglue me from this chair?

P.S. Do YOU have anything Exciting to share?

Cool I could really use a moment like that about now. I am so busy stuck in editing and marketing and life that my muse seems to have taken a vacation. Oh please return muse and give my inner editor a break.

Awesome! Congratulations :D not sure if I got anything exciting that's not old news ...

I'm going to spend 4 weeks in Egypt next month on an excavation. I'm an egyptology student, and this will be my first trip to the place. I cannot wait! 4 weeks of proper archaeological work (and a hell of a lot of sight seeing) :D

What are you studying at college? Best of luck to you!!!

I do! Cleodentri is important! Even if she is still unhappy about sounding like a cat with clean teeth.

Yay! Major huzzahs on the college acceptance — and writing the Difficult Scene (plus)!

Afterwards I was walking to my car

Where you are entirely safe, since I'm behind on reading your blog.

Can I have some cookies now?

Kinda taken the next couple of weeks but promise to get together again as soon as our mutual schedules allow... 8^)

@Blam: Thanks for the Major huzzahs (are they even fancier than regular huzzahs??)

Ah, I knew there was a reason I felt safe, walking along in the dark in the middle of nowhere right by a large swath of dark shadows with perfect places for strangers to hide.

What kind of cookies? ;)

Major huzzahs are above captain huzzahs and below lieutenant-colonel huzzahs in the huzzah hierarchy. So I don't know if they're fancier than regular huzzahs per se, but they do come with shiny bars and medals; most civilians are impressed by them. Regular huzzahs are in fact outside the military-huzzah chain of command and should not be confused with private huzzahs, which despite their name are not actually private huzzahs (generally thought to be the most special kinds of huzzahs, at least if you're in a committed relationship, although huzzahs from family and friends are of course appreciated in part for their often public nature).

What kind of cookies? ;)

I'm partial to good ol' fresh-baked Nestlé Tollhouse myself, perhaps with peanut butter, but the proper response is really "What kind would you like?"

@Blam: Ah, I see. I feel very much informed.

PEANUT BUTTER! I've been eating that like, every single day.

I apologize for my lack of grammar skills. *feels ashamed*
